Christophe Barratier is een Frans filmregisseur.
Barratier kreeg een klassieke muzikale opleiding en werd gitarist. In 1991 ging hij aan de slag bij de productiemaatschappij van zijn oom Jacques Perrin, Galatée Films. Hij leerde er het beroep van regisseur en assisteerde bij Microcosmos: le peuple de l'herbe , Himalaya, l'enfance d'un chef en Le Peuple migrateur als assistent-producer.
In 2001 ging hij regisseren met de korte film Les Tombales, met Lambert Wilson en Carole Weiss. Deze film, gebaseerd op Guy de Maupassant en begeleid met muziek van Bruno Coulais, werd geselecteerd voor het "Festival international du court-métrage de Clermont-Ferrand". Zijn eerste langspeelfilm dateert van 2004: Les Choristes, waarin hij de liefde voor de film en de liefde voor de muziek met elkaar verenigt.
In 2006 deed hij een aanval op de adverteerders, die hij ervan beschuldigde de piraterij te financieren door publiciteit te maken op de sites voor illegaal downloaden. Hij werd de woordvoerder van de filmwereld, maar verloor het symbolisch proces in 2006.
